Artistic journeys

About me
Welcome to my online gallery. I am Anuradha, a visual artist deeply passionate about watercolor painting. The unpredictable and fluid qualities of watercolors add a sense of spontaneity to my creations, leading to dynamic and surprising outcomes. I investigate innovative methods and test different materials to broaden my artistic creativity. My creative journey is shaped by thematic explorations. In April 2016, I dedicated myself exclusively to watercolor portraiture, while the summer months often inspire works centered around gardening and nature. Though I have an engineering background, art remains an essential part of my life, offering a space for creative exploration and personal growth.
In the recent years, daily sketching had become an integral part of my practice, with many of my works emerging as "delayed urban sketches"—interpretations of cityscapes based on photographic references. Although, I embrace every opportunity to sketch from life, capturing the energy and essence of urban environments in real time. More recently, I am exploring the abstract, engaging in meditative and playful repetitive patterns and colors. I invite you to explore my portfolio here and on Instagram and hope you return often to follow my artistic journey.

Urban and rural sketches offering a unique perspective on the beauty of both urban and rural environments.
Patterns
Experiments with patterns and colors, uncomplicated until they repeat and complexity emerges. The interplay of repetition transforms simplicity into rhythm, structure, and sometimes chaos.
Summer's bounty
This series invites you to contemplate the simple pleasures of gardening and the profound connection between humans and the earth. It speaks to the satisfaction of nurturing plants from seed to harvest and the joy of sharing homegrown produce with family and friends.
Watercolor portraits
This is a heartfelt collection that attempts to capture the essence and spirit of my closest friends and family through the medium of watercolor. Each portrait attempts to capture the unique personalities and deep connections shared with loved ones.
